…because someone needs to.
is there still a Creed debate?
Is there still a Creed (yes the former band) debate going on? You know the debate…are (were) there a Christian Band or not…I mean seriously. How long have they even been broken up? Was this ever really a debate? Every time they (the band was asked) they said “no.” Anyways.
This whole conversation came up because my 14 year old cousin, Austin (he lives with us, cool kid, I’ll go into that story sometime), asked said some of his friends were saying that Creed was a Christian band… Now stupidity is one thing, but ignorance really frustrates me. With the vast amount of technology available to kids today, you would think that just one would be smart enough to go to Google and type in the terms “Creed”, “band” and “Christian” (in case your curious). It’s mind boggling.
It is amazing what you find on the internet though. I came across an interview from August 2004 with Scott Stapp. It appears in all the time Creed was together everyone asked the question “Is Creed a Christian Band?”…but no one was asking the question “Are you a Christian?… I feel like often we look at how things are portrayed, if things are religious or not…and totally forget about the person involved. And honestly, what is more important than people?
Sorry, if I got all misty on ya. Just thinking out loud.
Cheers

How very true! As someone (I forget who) once said: “Christian is a noun, but we’ve turned it into an adjective.”
