One has to wonder how long they thought about the title before publishing, although it is an ingenious marketing ploy, I wonder how many views it would get with a different title… Enjoy.
Not that I am trying to give free ammunition to my female readers, but I’m going to have to file this article in the “I told you so” file…mainly because that’s what my wife said after reading it. To introduce the article, I will start with this clip:

“Having a husband creates an extra seven hours of housework each week for women, according to a new study. For men, tying the knot saves an hour of weekly chores.”

I realize for most women this is a moment where you say “Tell me something that is not obvious”…it’s interesting…however the most humorous thing to me is reading the comments… For a full rundown of the study about how men create more work for women check here.

Personally I blame the whole thing on government. With all the talk about the economy and jobs, I am sure that men just thought they were helping out. Politicians always talk about creating jobs, right? Well most men simply confused creating jobs with creating work….maybe?

Either way, if my wife is reading this, I promise to pick up my socks when I get home

Every once in a while you come across a story that give you a small bit of hope and lets you know that not every person in this world is a miserable piece of trash (my apologies to many of my co-workers <grin>). I feel this may come as a surprise to most people.

I found this story via NPR about a mugging victim that took a not so common approach to his mugger. This is actually a very cool story. To sum it up for you… Julio Diaz was on his way home from work. He always gets off the subway 1 stop early to eat at his favorite restaurant for diner. A teenager pulls a knife on him and demands his wallet, after Julio give his wallet he offers his coat too… I don’t want to rehash the whole story but Julio then tells the teen:

“If you’re willing to risk your freedom for a few dollars, then I guess you must really need the money. I mean, all I wanted to do was get dinner and if you really want to join me … hey, you’re more than welcome.”

Julio Diaz,
speaking with the teenager who robbed him

No tricks, no police…he just saw an opportunity to help someone in need (even though the kid just robbed him). Julio Diaz, are are truly awesome. Do read the whole story…but let me end with another quote from Julio:

“I figure, you know, if you treat people right, you can only hope that they treat you right. It’s as simple as it gets in this complicated world.”

Julio Diaz

We are going to file this under the “Why didn’t I think of that?” category. Evidentially, a “mysterious bearded man in Rome is wanted by police for using hypnotism to mesmerize cashiers and bank tellers while he steals thousands of dollars.” Local6 in Orlando is the source of this story.

Apparently, the man will walk into banks or supermarkets and find a female cashier and say “Look into my eyes”…kind of a lame pickup line, a bit overused, but then the women would hand over all their cash to the man. I really need to try this today. Plus, is it stealing if they just give you the money? hmm…

I would also suggest this for the authorities looking for this man. Let’s take a moment to look at this security camera photos…

It’s a little grainy, I know, but notice who this master of robbery looks like? I submit that he is none other than Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction! Look for yourself.. here is Jules in his earlier days before he discovered his “mesmerizing eyes line” only worked on women.

Now for the authorities, if there is any reward offered for this information then I’m sure you know how to get in touch with me. I’m sure Jules could and probably has used his powers for more than simple bank and store robbery…however, I do wonder if he continues to quote scripture during the events…
